A long time ago when the Internet was still young, I started an online journal. It wasn’t anything big, just my own little corner of the world where I could write.
Much (much) later, I created this company, digital pencil, (all lowercase) which I used to write small apps (ok, they were more scripts than apps) using the Python programming language.
And I looked around the Internet, and my little corner in it, and saw that it was good.
Python has grown up a LOT. And together with the Flask framework, you can do awesome stuff at the front end. Throw in SQLite and your development toolkit can be as complete as you need it to be.
It’s now 2024, a few days before my 60th birthday, and I still write code for fun. I write for fun too, and so after all these years, I can definitely say that building a skill (any skill) is a useful and productive venture. More about that later.
This is a BRAND NEW SITE. Pretty much like how I started, no bells, no whistles, no banners or flying images.
Just words and some doodles.
And lots of code.
I’m hoping to leave something real behind, a way of thinking about how things get done and enjoying a productive, and fulfilling life, doing anything that you find worthwhile.
